Taste of the Valley

Home Loan Taste of the Grand Valley is a food festival featuring a wide array of local restaurants, catering companies and food products.
Exhibitors provide samples of their food and/or beverage, and participants enjoy an evening of tasting and fun, all while supporting United Way of Mesa County. Attendees get to vote for the best in categories.
Fruita Fat Tire Festival
May 4 - May 6, 2018
One of the most beloved endurance events on the western slope. With a fast and fun singletrack lap located within the "posh environs" of Highline Lake State Park, with its green grass and warm showers, makes this a great race to kick off the season. Get your buddies together for a great weekend of racing and don't forget to check out the new "Coed Geezer" categories!!

The 2018 Alpine Bank JUCO World Series kicks off May 25th with the annual banquet. Games begin on Saturday, May 26th. The Alpine Bank Junior College World Series has been a staple event in Grand Junction for over 60 years! See you at the ballpark!
Mike the Headless Chicken Festival

Celebrate the 20th Annual Mike the Headless Chicken Festival June 1st and 2nd, 2018, in Fruita, Colorado. USA Mike is "Going for the Gold". This festival is dedicated to the amazing story of one chicken’s will to live. Events such as a 5k run, disc golf tournament, wing and peep eating contests, live music, delicious food and artisan booths make this a weekend to remember!
Movies Under the Stars
June 1 - August 31, 2018
“Movies Under the Stars” is the major fund raiser for the Glade Park Volunteer Fire Department. On summer Fridays, hundreds load up their families and drive up from Grand Junction to Glade Park, CO, to cool off and eat at the grill (only open during the movie) and watch a FREE family movie under stars that are bright and plentiful. For locals it is a place to visit with neighbors, and show support for the Fire Department by volunteering to flip burgers and brats at the grill and concession stand.
Downtown Farmer's Market
June 21 - September 13, 2018
From 5:30-8:30pm every Thursday, The Downtown Farmers’ Market is summertime’s signature event in Grand Junction, and is a showcase of farm products from the Western Slope and around Colorado. It's a summer-long community event series drawing an estimated 5,000 visitors per week.

Pork and Hops

Colorado Pork 'n Hops BBQ Challenge features several American events! Try barbeque from award-winning cooking teams or enter the Amateur BBQ Competition. Enjoy your favorite mircro brews from around the region and listen to some of your favorite local bands at Lincoln Park in Grand Junction. Gates open 4:00pm Friday and 12:00pm Saturday.
Colorado Mountain Wine Fest

Parade of Lights

Museum of the West
The Museum of the West offers a thousand years of history that can be experienced. “Ride” in a stagecoach, “fly” a 1958 Cessna from Walker Field or gaze upon an ancient cup and ladle from the Anasazi. Study Ute and Fremont Rock Art, see the real firearms that outlaws used, sit in a one-room schoolhouse, and visit the Pastime saloon to experience western Americana at its best. Lincoln Park-Moyer Pool
This 50 meter outdoor pool features a waterslide, Splash Pad water playground, a 13' diving well with 1 meter and 3 meter diving boards, and a separate, shallow water (2' - 4') instructional tank. The pool has an extensive grass area, concession area, shade shelters, and pool deck furniture. Open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. Click here for more information.
The Children's Nature Center
The Children's Nature Center (CNC) is the only living museum within a 250-mile radius that exhibits exotic animals in naturalist habitats. The center hosts more than 120 unique creatures, ranging from 13-foot pythons to 1-inch-long dart frogs to lively stingrays.

Susan Rowland believes in children and she believes in music. She is excited about the way that Kindermusik brings children and music together for life. Susan grew up with music in her home and studied music throughout high school and college. Her education includes elementary education and music at Colorado Mesa State and Belmont University in Nashville, TN. Susan received her preschool/childcare director qualifications through the University of the Rockies in Denver. She has been actively involved in the care and education of young children for over 18 years.
